February is Black History Month

With roots dating back to 1926, Black History Month has been celebrated across the country for nearly a century.  It has grown to encompass the full breadth of the Black experience in the U.S., including educational programs, cultural institutions, and the business community.

WSADA joins with dealers and dealership employees across the state and the country in celebrating the history of Black Americans not just in the franchised new car and truck dealership system, but in all walks of life.

There are a number of resources available to learn more about Black History Month, including a website curated by the National Museum of African American History & Culture.

Franchised dealerships reflect and represent the communities they serve, and believe Washington is stronger when the whole community stands together. Last year, WSADA’s Board of Directors affirmed the 2021 Bylaws provision and the Association Resolution on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion to ensure all groups have the opportunity to help lead the Association.

If you know of other appropriate cultural events or celebrations, please contact Executive Vice President Vicki Giles Fabré.
