Representing Dealers in Olympia
Each session, bills may be introduced addressing tax, franchise, consumer protection and vehicle and licensing issues. WSADA represents your interest on these issues and more. WSADA also monitors rules and regulations promulgated by various state agencies including the Departments of Ecology, Licensing, Labor and Industries, Revenue, and the Office of the Insurance Commissioner.

WSAD Political Action Committee
WSADA, recognizing the increasing authority of government and the motor vehicle industry, established it’s own political action committee. WSAD PAC contributes significant dollars to candidates running for the state legislature and statewide offices such as governor and attorney general. Dealers make a mandatory annual contribution of $150.00, payable with membership dues.

American Express Corporate Card Program
If your dealership is not already using an American Express Corporate Card to pay vendors, it should be! Use your card to make dealership purchases such as auto parts and supplies, gasoline, vehicle registration fees, publications, advertising, showroom design and construction services, tradeshows, office supplies and equipment.

Among the many benefits, the dealership can earn reward points that are easy to redeem for numerous items such as airline reservations, cash, charitable contributions, as well as hard-dollar savings for business spending with leading national suppliers. All this, and WSADA will receive partner incentives for referrals! Please click here to check out the attachment for more information. If you are interested in the program, contact WSADA Controller, Delanie Nielsen, via email or phone at 206-433-6300.

Dealer Bond Program
Under Washington State law (RCW 46.70.070), in order to obtain an automobile dealers license all dealers must carry a $30,000 surety bond . WSADA partners with Zurich to offer bonds through Merchants Bonding Company (MBC). Surety bond rates range from $220.00 (preferred rate) to $300.00 (standard rate). Bonds are billed directly by MBC.

To participate in the program, all owners with more than a 5% ownership in the bonded dealership must complete an application and credit check. Dealers may be required to produce an income statement and balance sheet (equivalent to that required by manufacturers). Completed applications are returned to WSADA by fax, e-mail or regular mail. Upon approval, dealers will receive the bond(s) from MBC with instructions for additional steps.

Please use the sample provided to help you complete your bond accurately, and to ensure expeditious processing. If you have questions about completing the application please call WSADA. Knowledgeable staff is ready to assist you.
